Yes, she stopped laying. She stopped eating also because last night her crop was empty and slightly squishy. Do you think she could have sour crop?

I don't think she has sour crop, if it was squishy then she's been drinking. She's probably still getting some food, but if your concerned about it you could offer her some food near her nest. Do you intend to let her have some eggs? And if so do you have a place where her and any chicks might be secure where she can have access to feed and water for whenever she hops off the nest?
Or do you want to stop her being broody under there?
Do you need fertile eggs perhaps or not wanting to hatch more chicks? =)

I have Cochins too. they like silkies can hatch rocks! Lol I have pen like that ( over 200 birds now) we had to place hardware cloth at the bottom ...... To keep a hen out and made her a " cave" with all kinds of broody stuff... Clean shaving ....hay, stuff.... Anyhow gave her a better spot... Don't keep putting your hand under there!!! Snakes?! Even a dog kennel cat kennel does good..

When I first had chickens, and learned that you could determine genders by looking at their feathers, I tried with every chick I got. Only a handful chicks were correct. :/  Only breeds that were specifically bred with that quality can be feather sexed.

That's true! We got four bantams that were "sexed" needless to say, we ended up with a rooster, but at least I now have a pair in that breed!

My boy cracks me up, whenever he gets a treat he walks around holding his prize and talking to everyone. I can't wait to see his future offspring. We plan to breed him with our EE and Australorps.
