Cochin Thread!!!

I did have several of these. Can't believe I didn't think of that. *hand smacks forehead* roosters dont have a very distinct pattern like females. As for your comment about the red wattles and the tall stance im at a lost.

My Cochin has been broody for about 2 weeks and I've been trying to break her but today I gave in when a friend ran out of room in her incubator. My Princess now has 12 Light Brahma eggs to hatch! She covered them all like a champ!

Omg I have seven girls every single one EXCEPT tutu( frizzled)( looks like she is wearing a tutu) didn't. They flatten out like pancakes...best moms ever. Mine are easy to break tho,if I want to  ( I hardly ever do that!)

Well i have around 30 girls and none are every broody. I had several who were until I got more chickens. I figure its probably because when I got more i moved the nesting boxes to the run. Working on a larger coop with a much bigger run, hopefully ill have a few more broody. I felt so bad for my friend though. She had a hen sittin on about 15 eggs for over 2 weeks, and a snake came in an ate them all.

Hello got a question. Can you get a standard sized mille fleur cochin? I've only really seen bamtams, I'm looking to either hatch some or raise from chicks.

I have two silver penciled Cochins and I'm at odds over their sex! They are 13 weeks old. Their behavior is questionably male. Their looks are questionably female. Any of you master Cochin keepers have thoughts? I already have 2 Silkie Roos, so any new Roos would need to be rehomed.

Both are pullets. Pattern is all different on males.
