Cochin Thread!!!

Wow! There are so many pretty pictures! I am super excited, I just got my first bantam Cochins today! They are so adorable...

I love my LF chickens and was never really interested in bantams. I was checking out the auction thread and you know that moment when you buy something and then wonder, why did I just buy that? My chicken addiction. I am so happy with my bantam cochins, they are so sweet. Now I need to add a frizzle to the group for a bit more of cuteness overload.

I have a LF Cochin addiction personally but a few bantams added in just for giggles is what I am thinking. I have EE bantams in my other coop and two of them will brood the same nest. Have been told that bantams are great mothers, so I am going ti put it to the test this spring. My 1st LF Cochin was broody last year as well but I think having a few back up sitters won't hurt. May be able to get a banty to hatch quail too.

Very nice birds! I hope I will have a good breeding of them this year to increase my flock.

Beware of breeding frizzle to frizzle, you will end up with frazzled.

Thank you too! I only have smooth feathered here but thank you so much for the info. I have blue pullet, blue splash pullet and a black cockerel, hope I don't get any full white from the mix. Someone shared the odds a while back and I will need to look fir it aga8n.

Thank you as well I don't know if I will add frizzles, they are cute but I really want to increase my blues. Love blues for some reason. May end up with mixed flocks of nothing but blues someday. Cochins, Jersey Giants, Iowa ohhh myyyy.

mine are bantam cochins, frizzle can occur in any breed though, but are mostly found in just a few, I'm not sure if I've seen LF Cochin frizzles.
