Cochin Thread!!!

I thought that to for a while but the first one grew its feathers a little bit faster than the other one. It also has five toes on each foot.

Sounds like a mix because cochins aren't supposed to have 5 toes.
The white chick definitely looks like a pullet tho, the first one is a little iffy, but looks more like a roo.
In my experience though, sometimes boys will feather out quicker, sometime girls.

Hello, long time since I spoke to you, my fault. Anyhow I love your Cochins! Have a trio at home that are around 2 months old and I am pretty sure one is male. Comb is pink and tiny waddles developed so far while the other two are pale combed yet. Question I have for you is ..Do you think males have a beak that is more curved down than a female? I look at my LF male and see it on him and the lil guy I hatched.
I have not noticed that, but now I will be looking, I have noticed longer beaks on my adult roosters and have to occasionally trim one of the buff Orpington. I will have to have a look today.

Sorry for the slow response. My new phone didn't like BYC for some reason. Support team has been at it for 4 days and I finally back on.
But here is the pic I been trying to show you.See how curved his beak is.

I did look around at my chickens, I did see that everyone has a different shape and length. The roosters tended to have larger beaks that some were slightly more curved and longer like that but so were some of my older hens. I think most hens peck around more and wear the beak more where roosters don't do as much so the beak gets a tip. That's my thoughts.

That very well could be. Ijust noticed my two guys beaks are curved morethan the girls at both age groups. Stumpys is worn more but the lil guy has a more sickle looking beak compared to the girls in his trio. Was just a thought I was curious on.

Hoping you Cochin experts can help ease my curiosity. I have been convinced that I had one rooster among my six 8 week olds. Then suddenly "Millie" started growing comb and wattles. They are still orange like the other 4 "girls" but much bigger. Posting pics of Harley (who I'm sure is cockerel), Millie who is the question mark and Sophie who I'm sure is a girl.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance. If I have 2 roos I need to decide which one is staying. And that's going to be a tough choice :(
