Cochin Thread!!!

Well we have a full silkie and she looks different. I know the second one was either a Cochin or Cochin mix. And the first might have been silkie mix since he has the same puff of feathers on his head as the full silkie. Just can't remember exactly what we were told when we bought them. Knew you all would be able to help solve our mystery. Thanks for the input

I put my LF Blue Cochins in a cage today to see if April is laying yet.
And guess what!! She laid an egg!!! I am so excited right now!!
This evening I am going to do a practice AI with her and my cockerel frizzle. I will then wait a week or two, AI again then take a few eggs and hatch them!!!

Thanks! We actually got the names off of the show Parks and Recreation, we went by the characters personality and the birds personality

I have a Blue Cochin rooster that I hadn't planned on keeping but my family fell in love with. So I bought a White and aPartridge day old chicks for him. Well my Partridge is looking like a rooster.I'm looking for another hen but will probably end up buying fertile eggs to hatch. What would produce the most striking and fun hatchings?
This is King

And does anyone know of a good breeder near 14701?

Not sure of any breeders around Florida, but next spring I may start shipping hatching eggs. They will be BBS and maybe some frizzles also

I don't know. I was just on eBay looking. It's so tempting, lol. But so far when I hatch out shipped eggs, I just hatch out roosters. We'll see. I just want one hen so I can hatch eggs in the spring, not for show quality but as broodies, and just wanted fun looking hatchings. *sigh*
