Black Cockerel and Black Drizzle Pullet. A blue hen is also supposed to be in there but her and the cockerel don't get along at the monent.

Did a lit today, cleaned coop, brooder, and Cochin cages, put a makeshift cochin area together. I have an idea of what i want to build for the cochins this summer. All of the chicks are doing good and are becoming really active.

I love all of these pics of everyone's cochins!! Mine arrive in June...I ordered a cochin bantam assortment and I wasn't going to order any standards but then I was drawn completely towards the white standard cochins....I am weak,lol. So also in the order are four white cochin hens and one white cochin roo.

started collecting eggs for hatching yesterday, but did not get a single egg today

And of course the lighting sucked so this pullet looks way lighter then she actually is..

I ordered my cochins from Murray McMurray. They will be babies when they arrive of course. I am hoping they have correctly determined sex. We will see.

Here Are the pens I am getting the eggs for hatching from. Next time I am switching all birds to the black cockerel excpet the blue hen, she will go with the Frizzle and I will have some chicks I can sell right away from them.

Hi all
I'm new to the world of chickens (and completely hooked and my chicks are 3 weeks old. One was supposed to be a Buff Cochin and it's definitely a Cochin but not very buff - it's more blue / lavender. It's a beautiful chick (and ridiculously cuddly and sweet) and I'm wondering if the colors as chick stay true to the color of a mature chicken?
