It's dependent but cochins are known as a broody breed so they'll most likely be broody often; mine while not the broodiest of the flock was defintally frequently broody. That was a lot of broodyI’m hoping mine will want to hatch out some eggs for me! Do they usually go broody in the summer or fall? Or is it entirely dependent upon the individual hen?.....
Cochins as a whole are typically very prone to going broody. Spring time and summer are the busiest broody months. I do believe they may still go broody in fall, but most likely early fall. All of that depends of course on each particular bird. I just brought one out and put one back into broody jail. Chicken juggling!I’m hoping mine will want to hatch out some eggs for me!
