How neat looking!

Reminds me of some of my little buggers growing up. Photo of parents below, Wizard and Cleopatra.

Does anyone have any pics of Bantam Blue Cochin chicks that they could post and share? Possibly both a male and female, at around 3 - 5 weeks? This is my first time with Blues, and I'd love to see what they're supposed to look like as they start to feather. Thanx!

I've got BANTAM Mille Fleur Cochin eggs, adults and chicks for sale as I'm selling out all of my MFCs in order to concentrate on my Calico Cochin project!

Good deals to be had! I've got some beautiful Mille Fleurs available.

;-)

Will you ship chicks or started birds??

ETA: Is Gem still available, I just checked out your website? I'd prefer younger birds (I've got many started age groups from hatches this year) but if she's still available... I'd love some "teenager" chicks though, maybe 1 or 2. Preferably pullets, of course.

Chickie'sMoma :

wow! what color is that roo considered?!

Wizard is the result of a Mille Fleur cross to a Columbian. He looks like he threw back to the Columbian side a bit much but I think he is awesome. I am trying him on many different patterned girls to see what results I will get. He is in with a MF/buff Columbian hen and has given me some great MF chicks with good pattern and he is also in with a buff Columbian now to see what I will get from that. I would have known today but my incubator malfunctioned and I lost 160 eggs. Ugh! What a set back!

Here is his first son from the cross with one of my foundation MF hens. The hen looks pure buff but is actually a MF/buff Columbian cross. She has given me some great patterns so I crossed Wizard and her and got this lovely boy as well as a few other really nice ones. Just goes to show that it is best to know what is behind the birds before breeding. Looks don't always tell the tale.

Gosh, if I had the time and space to work on a project like Mille Fleur....I think it would be fascinating to see all the neat colors emerge - especially in the early stages of the project, when you never quite know what you're going to get! Your birds are just gorgeous, Nadine!

Annarie,
You should get some of Nancy's (BluffCountryShepherdess) MF Cochins. She has some extremely nice ones for sale. If I had the money and it weren't so blasted hot here I would certainly do it.
Mine are nothing compared to the pretties she has. And she is in the same state as you.

One day I hope to get mine up to that beauty. I'm on my way and you are right, it is really fun.

Thanks for the compliment. I enjoy my bantam Cochins so much and was bored with raising only whites. Now this MFC project is keeping me excited. The whites have taken on a new look beside my others. It gave me something more to look at and now the whites are gorgeous to me again.
I need to get more photos of them. This is a photo of a pullet I hatched a few years ago. She is now a grandmother herself helping to raise some little white beauties. I can't believe my Peeps is so grown up!
