Cochin Thread!!!

I do like the mille Fleur cochins but I just love the evenness of the pattern in the tolbunt. I was looking in to starting in polish, the one that I have is a sweetheart if a little dumb. I just prefer something that can see. I don't think its in there because they are still works in progress lots of inbreeding.

My MFC pullets and Roo -

They are starting too moult (is that how it is spelled?) The Roo is too red but I still think he is beautiful.

Question - Just bathed my big ol' hen for the show this Sunday, and noticed there are still a TON of pin feathers on her - this after a molt that started last April! Is there any way to gently remove those pin coverings? I tried to get one off, but the feather came with it. Whew - a ton more work to bathe a cochin than a regular chicken, but I love her! She's about 9 lbs!

Your birds are beautiful! I would really like to have a couple MFs I also want some calicos. I think they are the most gorgeous birds! Oh but then I also want some columbians... LOL I want them all!

As of Sept. 25th, PERFECTION FARM BANTAM COCHINS will be closed down and the barn will be empty. I have sold all my birds and am satisfied that they all have good homes.

My son & I have enjoyed raising birds for years now, but now it's time to take a break. The winters here are brutal, the varmits are everywhere and I relish the idea of some time to travel someplace warm.

Of course, if I run across some really nice birds or a master breeder wants to sell me something stellar.....

.......I may be back
