Cochin Thread!!!

Question of the more experienced Cochin parents...
We have 2 Partridge and they were suppose to be pullets, but they are 2 different colors.
Is there any way to tell at 5 wks of age?

They look like 2 pullets to me. I don't think a roo would have as much feather pattern, I'm no expert and I can't remember when mine were developing, what the roos looked like in the beginning. It would be better if you could show a picture showing both of their heads. Here's a couple of pictures of my 5 month roo and pullet~

I produced some chicks this year that could possibly be Wheaton. They came from my Mille Fleur breeding program.

I bred Nadia ( one of my MF hens that I purchased as a pullet from Lynne/wwmicasa1 ) to Horace, my red (??) colored Rooster.

They are beautiful birds but I love the bottom pullet the best!

Thank You. I actually only have the two pullets. The last picture is just a more recent picture of one of them.

I only put Horace with Nadia for a short amount of time, just to see what I would get. Unfortunately, Horace fell victim to a predator before I could put him back with Nadia. Horace was kind enough to leave me with a TON of cockerals and the two pullets.

I am sorry to hear about Horace. I hope his sons carry on the family name.

I finally got a pic with them both looking up.

Any incite to why they being pullets (?) would be 2 different colors would help...

Can you get a closer shot of Que? Bar-B is a pullet. The cockerels are usually dark in the hackles and will have black tail feathers as juveniles. If you can get a close up of the whole body of Que that would help.
