I got some Mottled eggs to improve my Mille Fleurs. I ended up with 3 black pullets, one black roo and one blue pullet. They now are 9 weeks old and the roo is showing excellent type but is developing some red hackles. A Cochin breeder told me that is good for breeding color in pullets (mottled). I don't know?
Just like my Partridge Trio, I wasn't planning on keeping all of them but I now want to keep then all and raise Mottles too.
How did "a few Chickens" end up like this!
