I'm about to buy a bunch of Blue Cochins from a man around my area and I'm very excited! They're beautiful! Everyone has such wonderful birds here.

Just wondering though, How are they on egg production? How many do yall get from your girls?

Hi Everyone...sorry to just "barge" in on your thread, but I've been lerking for a while. I hope someone can help me out here...what will I get from a gold laced hen coverd by a barred roo? Does this combo produce sex-link chicks or?? Sure would appreciate some help and advise. Thanks in advance...(Hoping some of the genetic guru's can help)

This is Li'l Stinker, the meanest bantam cochin I ever encountered.

Here he is attacking the clip that held the coop door up.

Li'l Stinker and Li'l Girlfriend--both are 2010 hatch.

The two of them again--he wouldn't let me get a clear shot of her with the door open.

Their first baby.

Wow! That is the second white bantam Cochin roo I have heard of recently that was mean.
It is hard for me to believe! Mine are such love bugs. I have 3 boys now and though the two were hatched and raised here in the last few years the other is not from here but still just as nice as can be. I would not breed a mean roo. Too many nice ones and I don't want to perpetuate a sour disposition.

I love my whites so much. In that one photo he does not look like he is attacking the clip. I can understand him getting between you and his hen. Most roos are protective to a degree. But I am forever pushing my guys aside to get good photos and they just talk to me about it. Nothing mean but very conversational. Maybe once the weather has gotten better you can let them go outside some. All my birds go out in all weather. It really takes the edge off but we do not have winters like you all do.

I hear you!

He didn't show any sign of aggressiveness when I bought him. I take him out of the coop and carry him around with me as I take care of everyone else. He hates it, but deals with it.

I love frizzles. Does he have a peacomb? Or is the angle of the picture just wrong to show his comb?

It's probably just a bad angle. I could not get him to stop crawling up my leg for his photo session so most of my pictures were blurry.

I am loving all of the cute photos and the chicks are adorable!
