That is sooo awsome! So out of the pack does she rule the roost (no pun intended) or does she just go with the flow? That is just so cool - if I could let some of my chicks run free in the house with diapers that would be extreme but my husband would KILL me and my family would think I've gone even more around the bend.

Posting as suggested. The GL's typically have poor lacing (incomplete), and the ground color is too light. The males should not have a variance in color between hackle, back/shoulders, and saddle. Oh my goodness! I thought I was the only one who kept a pet chicken in the house! Mine stays in a large rabbit cage turned coop, and comes out to perch by the deck doors in the afternoons to watch the world go by. Now that it's beginning to warm up -well it did for a few days, then back to winter - I'm making a chicken tractor so she can be outside digging and eating bugs while I'm in the garden.

On the roo, I see the 3 different shades you are talking about on the hackle, wing and saddle. Maybe 4 if you add in the primary, which appears closest to the lacing on the breast. Which would you consider the preferable color, and closer to "Golden Bay"?
