I talked with him earlier today. Emailed him tonight that I am buying them if they are still available. Hoping to hear that they are going to be mine. I don't live anywhere close to Indiana. Will spend about 7+ hrs on the road each way to get them. Seems close after over 17 hrs one way to pick up my Columbians last year. A starter flock this good just doesn't come along often.

Excellent! I hope you get them. If they were GL's, I'd find a way to make the trip! And something tells me you'll be bringing home more than just 5 Partridge!!

It's like Candyland for us Cochin-crazed fanatics!!

I agree that leaving Cochinmans with only what you went there for is tough. When I went there it was wonderful to see so many REALLY GOOD birds. I often wonder how many of those never get shown. Just got the email that says I do get the Partridge starter flock. I am pretty good about knowing my limits on what I can care for well so I doubt I will get any "extras".

Cochin genetics experts:

Look at this hen. She hatched from BBS eggs. She has the strangest red fine lacing all over her body. I presume she is splash as she has about 6 ghostly grey feathers interspersed through out the laced feathers. Think she might make an interesting project of some sort? Any ideas what I should try? Her hatchmates turned out to be properly colored, splash and black.

Hi everyone, I am new. Been with the site about a year, but recently got my chickens.

I have giant cochins.

What do you call this color of roo? He looks like a barred / splash?? I am so new at this....

I have a partridge, black, and blue hens as well as a cochin/brahma that is gold with black barring.
