Matt I love that big black cockrel!!!! He is awesome and soooo nice!!! Makes me want to breed the big ones again but, I know I do not have the space, time, or patiences to wait for them to mature.

Still very young. I haven't seen any laced cochins around here. Not in show or for sale.

Wish I could get some golden laced cochins!

Wyandottes are not known for their friendliness like the cochins are

BooBoo grows a Tail!

When I last posted pics of BooBoo at 4 weeks old, she still had not started growing a tail - far behind growth development as I'm used to seeing. (It started the conversation regarding brooding at lower temps.) At 5 weeks - still no tail. On November 30th, at 6 weeks, finally a little stub!!! I even got her parents to take a break and pose for a quick pic!

Got some new pics today and thought I would share a few of them with you guys.

This is my oldest smooth pullet. She was hatched Aug. 7th, so almost 4 mos.

Here she is scratching her face or something, lol.

Here is the second oldest smooth pullet I have. She was hatched exactly 3 weeks after the oldest on Aug. 28th.

I couldnt get any of them to stand still long enough to get any really nice pics. But here are a few more.

And here (at last) is the smooth male I am breeding over my older frizzle hens this Spring.
