Cochin Thread!!!

Yes I agree, he is beautiful. I'm not much for Silky feathers, but he absolutely gorgeous. His type is outstanding.

OMG, Steve, he is stunning ~!

Twyla, are you OK??? Southern Indiana has been declared an area of disaster. God I hope you weren't in the line of fire. If you're OK, please post something just to let us know you're alright. You don't have to chat, just an "I'm here" is enough.
Mandy (Cochin Coop) is alright, it jumped over her. There were places to the east and west of her that were hit and a few people were killed, but she is safe. I'm sharing that because she is at her families in Kentucky this weekend and most likely won't be posting until she gets home on Sunday night. KY was hit badly also.

Hey Nancy~ Yes, we are okay, very shook up at how close we were, we have pictures from Palmyra, located 7 miles north of us, it just barely missed Palmyra. I'll post a few pictures from there.

Just wanted to say to anyone in a state expecting severe weather tomorrow to be safe and hope that the weather evades you all. Under the gun (again) here in KY for later today. Had a tornado less than 1/8 of a mile from where we were day before yesterday, but everyone is safe and no damage to report. Sadly cant say the same for the people down the road who lost everything in the tornado. Stay safe everyone, and be aware! Dont want to find out anyone was injured or worse from this weather.

Casey, is everything okay with you?

scarey to see those pics looking like they were taken so close to the funnel. it is a rare occasion here in NH to see them touch down but we have been getting at least one a year up here the past 5 years. mostly they are small and part of micro burst systems but we had a HUGE one run through part of the Lakes Region in Alton i think back in August 2008, maybe 2007. weird to think we occasionally get them here because there are lots of hills and mountains-not flat like most areas touched by them.

glad to hear some of our members are safe from all this. i hope this will be the end of the season and no more touch down.

keep those pretty birdies safe!

Thank goodness you're OK. Those pictures are chilling, I don't envy the person that took that one with the funnel looming so terribly overhead. I've got to wonder what they were thinking to be out where they could get that picture.
Is Casey in Southern Indiana also?

Casey is in Kentucky, I believe around the central area. I haven't seen any posts from him so I'm hoping he's okay too

It was just heart-wrenching to sit out here in Denver and be able to do nothing but watch the massive devastation on the news this morning. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected.
