Cochin Thread!!!

what I thought was going to be an incomplete buff columbian has turned out to be a BLR pullet!!!

4 years and I finally have one! I have been fighting with the double lacing gene a lot.
yes I know she's not very red but I have several males now with a nice dark red color
 
HMM one of the babies is getting semi curly feathers??
What do you think?? any predictions on sex or anything yo might see special that I don't?

Let us know what you think these are our 1st Cochins and not sure what to look for?
When we got them we originally had 7 but in the 1st 3 days we had them we lost 2 for unknown reasons??

Everything I read or hear say how these guys are extremely friendly and mellow?? well so far these are the feisteyest chicks we have had yet LOL "They give Mary the runaround every time she tries to hold them"

A little early for me to sex and be sure. I really don't like that none of them have feathers on their middle toes. Post pics in 1-2 weeks. black 1 and the buff on your hand seem like males to me but just a little early.
 
LF of course.

They still have Brahma stilts, but tail sets are coming down and feathering/fluff is increasing. Long way to go, but a pretty project. The culls get scooped up at the local swap.

I was lucky to start with a single combed bird.
