How about Dark Brahma?Guess I'll chime in here as well. To me, he doesn't appear to be pure Cochin, so no telling where the coloring comes from.

I would say dusty with yellow showing. They r yellow on the bottom of feet. I will post pics later today. Are they really dark or are they a dusky color with yellow showing through on the shanks and top of feet? Yellow on bottom of feet? Need to see pictures or have a better description.

Whew !! I was getting worried there! Then I think you just have to let them grow out as you describe leg color for Black Cochins.
Thank you, Coopa.
Your answers are very helpful and appreciated. The site you listed looks especially good-I cant wait to have some time to sit and read on it. I am planning to purchase Sigrid Van Dort's book because it has come highly recommended by a number of people and since I am truly a visual person I think the photos will be great(I know the cost is up there so I am budgeting for it). Does anyone here have any other suggestions on some good genetic sites or books that I can read? I am glad to know that I am not the only one that has problems with the chicken calculator.
Thanks again!
Here's another good website by Brian Reeder:

I also highly recommend Reeder's book, Intro to the Color Forms of Domestic Fowl. There are no pictures, but it is laid out very well and easy to understand. I actually find that it and vanDort's book work well together, and I use both equally.
Another one that I have is Grant Brereton's 21st Century Poultry Breeding.
Both Reeder's and Brereton's books are usually available on Amazon and cost around $15-$30 each.
