Hi Friends—My broody raised two adorable Cochins who are now about 8 weeks old. I’m no expert, but I’m thinking they are cockerels. Can the Cochin experts chime in and help me?

The are large fowl. Since this posting there has been no change in their combs and wattles. I am thinking pullets. Are they bantam or large fowl? I'm leaning towards pullet on both, but the first one may be a Cockerel. You'll know for sure real soon.
Great! I would have said pullets too!The are large fowl. Since this posting there has been no change in their combs and wattles. I am thinking pullets.
We have cochins as well. They both look to be pullets to me. They are both walking close to the ground which is a girl thing. You can look at the length of the wing feathers to give you an idea. If the wing tips reach the butt area, they are girls. The boys have substatially shorter, smaller wings. You will also see classic Rooster behavior to include stare downs, mock fighting and upright gait. They will also instinctively look at the sky for predators. Agreed. LF girls develop night and day differently than bantams.Great! I would have said pullets too!
Most of this only pertains to day old and very young chicks. Wing sexing doesn't work on cochins at all... Nor the pin feather/tail growth thing. We have cochins as well.
