My friend picked up some chickens off the side of the road and he gave them to me. Out of the three I am pretty sure there are two roosters and one hen. But I do not know what breed they are, but think they could be cochins. If you could tell me that would be very helpfull. The gray one is a male as he crows but don't know about the black one as I haven't heard a peep out of him, but I'm 99% sure the barred one is a hen.
Thanks for your help :)

Great that you could find it in your heart to help out these birds!

Good luck with your new flock and enjoy BYC!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! They do look like hatchery/pet cochins, the black is a male also, hard to tell for sure with the barred one with the pattern since its feathers are wet, but am pretty sure I see saddle feathers on that one also.

Glad you joined us! All of those birds are Cochin/Pekin cockerels--Pekin and Cochin mean the same thing, but Pekin is used more commonly in Europe.

We're glad to have you. Your birds do look like Cochin bantams (also called Pekins), and they are all cockerels.

Nice birds - some person thought it was a great idea to dump roosters by the side of the wrong. How nice of you to rescue them.

Actually I am pretty sure they are ex cock fighting birds
as there are cock fighting rings in the area were they were picked up.
Thanks for your help:)
