cochins

Thanks! I think they are really cool. They are really sweet birds.
I love all of my cochins, but the frizzles are just too adorable. I cannot wait until Spring to start hatching again!

Just wanted to add, Chiknmama, hope you have stopped whatever your chickies had in its tracks. I know how difficult it is to lose what you have worked so hard to protect and enjoy. I lost about 75 birds a couple of years ago to a neighborhood pack of dogs. They killed all of my laying flock and all of my cochins I had raised for show. I am just now getting my flock back to where I had it before. Maybe by next Spring, I will start showing again. Best of luck with your flock!

So far no more sick chickies - just the two that are dead. It's been a couple of days since I had to put down the Jap baby, I am hoping it hasn't passed to anyone else. I keep checking them a few times a day, to see if anyone is snotty or has swollen sinuses - so far nothing. It is nerve wracking to keep checking, but I can't help myself.

I need to find out the incubation period on IB to see when I can stop checking so obsessively and relax a little. (if it truly is IB, it may have been something else - but since it is just the two, I am wondering what would affect them so badly, and no one else.)

I can't wait for my eggs in the bator to begin hatchign this weekend, that'll cheer me up (8 of the eggs are large breed cochins.)
