But right now I am mezmerized by my babies hatching
I think the first one (that is hatched - only one hatched so far) is a silver laced wyandotte - so far none of the cochin eggs are pipped, but it is just the end of day 20 tomorrow I may see more action. I have two more pipped.
on another note, I had acquired some sick hens with similar symptoms of yours (I found out others had died and some showed no symptoms) I wound up returning the birds. The owner didn't realize the ones she gave me were sick....anyways she got a necropsy report done and it was ornithobacterium rhinotracheale which, apparently, has become much more common. Here's a link to the thread and has info on cures....sulfamet and tetracycline, I believe. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=105219
Anyways, so happy you have some beautiful babies to look forward to....and some columbians in the spring
the firsdt baby is lonely, is cuddling with a stuffed rabbit - four or five others pipped and have not gone any further than that... still waiting on them.
