cochins

We just got giant cochin chicks and my daughter has already made one a pet because of their great personality....its either blue or black...IDk...its only a week old...how can u tell? Its a little greyish not all black but its beak is black and some feathers are coming in black but like I said a bit grey....I could get a pic so u could see it....this is her bird!! and it will be cherished. Could it be a grey? I got an assortment and they couldn't tell me. The lady told me shed give me good ones

I've been following this thread for a while. Amazondoc, he is so handsome! Where did you get him? Did you breed him with the mix, or buy him that way? I want one!! LOL!!

You can see a lot of my cochins on my page <<<---- I don't have my blues on there, yet and no recent pic of my old timer splash roo so it's just bantam blacks.

I need to take some more pictures! I have a lot of cochins but not a lot of pics of them.

The Bantam? He is a Splash. The picture does not do him justice…his color is a lot prettier than it looks in the picture. For a while I thought he was Lavender but as he matured a small amount of dark splashes came out in his feathers. I was disappointed because I have a little lavender hen I wanted to breed with him.

My trio came from Mike Vogan -- bantyman here on byc. I love the mille fleur color pattern! But anyone who buys mille fleur cochins *should* keep in mind that this is really an ongoing project in this country. Don't expect perfect markings, but do expect something pretty!
