How soon will a cockerel try to crow?

I was wondering what one of my chicks noises was but think it is way too early for that...but I am a n()()b what do i know!

I've read of two day old chicks crowing and one year old roosters that have yet to crow.

My youngest crower so far was 5 weeks old. My oldest was 6 months.

Hi,
Largely depends upon the breed.
My huge Brahma boys were 7 months old when they crowed and then they sounded like they had a severe case of croup!
What sort of boys are they?

This one is an ameraucana cross. Mostly ameraucana though.

I'm really looking forward to my little RIR boy to crow. He's only 7 weeks old but I think it's so funny when they first start crowing. I'm excited for him.

I have two Marans cockerels about 18 weeks old just starting to crow but they're not really managing it properly yet. Sounds (and looks) VERY funny!

our BR cockerel who is 11 weeks old today started crowing 2 weeks ago. it was pretty weak at first, but now it's pretty solid.
