Cockerel or Hen???

We ordered chicks that are all supposed to be hens. I have doubts about this one "Lucy". They are 4 weeks old now. I say they should not be getting red waddles already! What do you think? She is a Speckled Sussex

That's what I say but I was told not to "borrow trouble" bc this was supposed to be a hen. Guaranteed sexing

I still love him but need to contact the company and get a refund since he was supposed to be a Hen.

Don't hold your breathe for a refund. Vent sexing is never 100% guaranteed.

What hatchery? Because the vast majority clearly state on their websites and order forms that sexing is only 90% accurate. Unless you order sexlinks, there is always a chance for a cockerel or two.
