Hey guys! These Ameraucana (probably EE's) chicks are about 6 weeks old, I got them from Big R labeled as pullets but I'm having a hard time believing one of them is a girl. Butters (the light colored one) is larger than Lemmiwinks the dark colored chick, and his/her legs seem a little thicker. Behavior is not male like at all (at least hopefully not yet). I'll try getting a front view of her face for comb references but it isn't red, still yellow. Shes red and grey colored all over and developed feathers slower than her sister. I can't have a rooster where I live and I'm quite pessimistic so I'm hoping she's just a weird hen. I also thought one of my chicks last year was a rooster too! I think I'm paranoid. Let me know what you guys think!

My 1st impression was female but It looks like a slight bit of color in the comb. It seems like the EE's I've had have been slow showing their sex. Then again, there are those legs that look kind of big.... :idunno

Don't give up hope yet or sell the chick. The wattles need to be bigger and darker for a cockerel.

Watch for that and then look for hackle and saddle feathers to come in. It might take several more weeks to be sure
Oh I never would! I raised them from chicks I'm much too attached, I love them. I'm hopeful shes a pullet.
