Hi chicken experts,

I need help identifying whether or not my frizzles and bantams are cockerels or pullets. I supposedly received four pullets...now these chicks are about 14 weeks old and two of them are making strange sounds in the morning. None of them have spurs, so I'm very confused.

Experts, please lend me your advice. There are more photos on the Flickr stream (click on any of the photos below to go there.)

Many thanks!

I can't click on the pictures; it doesn't click to go anywhere!

I'm not that sure they are roosters. The black frizzle definitely looks more girlish, but I've seen some hens with impressive combs - my Australorp, for one. Are they cochin frizzles or a different flavor of frizzle? The one in the middle, the lovely pale mottled bird that is also in the 4th pic, definitely looks more rooish in coloring, and seems to have pointed hackle feathers. The lighter frizzle, I can't say.

Is that a little gold laced wyandotte bantam on the left? I'd say there's still a chance she's really a she. Got a picture of his/her tail and hackles?

Alright; I'm going to guess:

Boy
Girl
Boy
Girl

If #2 is a gold laced wyandotte bantam, then she's for sure a girl, because the roosters of that variety are usually much different looking, with a solid gold head and neck. Thusly:

(Not my image, I got it off of google.) Her comb may be a little bigger than the frizzle's, but that doesn't signify much, since they are different breeds.
