Coconut Oil??

Hello!

It’s winter and michigan, and if you don’t know what that means, it’s COLD!!! It’s been getting down In the negatives at night And I’ve been bringing the chickens into the garage. But during the day when it’s sunny and in the teens I take them back to the coop so they can get some sun and leave me an egg! Is warming up coconut oil and putting it on combs waddles and legs a good idea? I have been doing it for a while now and haven’t had any problems with frostbite. What’s your opinion on it?

It won't prevent frostbite but it is a great moisturizer for dry skin.

Vaseline is the best for that, but coconut oil is a good comb/wattle healer!

I dont know about the freezing temps, but coconut oil is good for removing lice eggs stuck to feather shafts.
