Thanks for the coffee and bagels Our microwave is over the stove and doubles as the exhaust fan. I use it to thaw meat, reheat coffee and bake potatoes mostly. For the potatoes, I cook them until barely soft and then crisp them up in the ovenMine is over the stove. I use it to reheat meals from the fridge or melt butter for baking
That’s my favorite way to cook bacon too!Re: bacon. I’ve cooked in microwave with success but can’t make huge batches. Microwave safe plate, a couple of paper towels, place 5 to 6 slices depending on how big the plate and bacon is, cover with another couple pieces paper towels. Nuke for 3.5 to 4.5 minutes. Keep a close eye, your microwave may run hotter or colder than mine. But the bacon comes out crispy and I only have to clean up the plate and inside microwave. I use vinegar, dawn, lemon, water mix to clean up.
Our house tends to be cold, especially the kitchen and one of the little things I love to do is heat up the dinner plates. Put them in the convection/micro for a couple minutes and they’re warm way sooner than the big oven and with less energy used. Like my mom used to say “You don’t want to put a warm baby on cold marble.”
