Mine is over the stove. I use it to reheat meals from the fridge or melt butter for baking
Our microwave is over the stove and doubles as the exhaust fan. I use it to thaw meat, reheat coffee and bake potatoes mostly. For the potatoes, I cook them until barely soft and then crisp them up in the oven

Re: bacon. I’ve cooked in microwave with success but can’t make huge batches. Microwave safe plate, a couple of paper towels, place 5 to 6 slices depending on how big the plate and bacon is, cover with another couple pieces paper towels. Nuke for 3.5 to 4.5 minutes. Keep a close eye, your microwave may run hotter or colder than mine. But the bacon comes out crispy and I only have to clean up the plate and inside microwave. I use vinegar, dawn, lemon, water mix to clean up.
That’s my favorite way to cook bacon too!

When we ripped our kitchen out many years ago now we got a microwave/convection oven that I really loved. Yes you could heat up coffee but it was also a second oven. I just got a new one with a steeper learning curve but I suppose that’s good for an aging brain ? :hmm Our house tends to be cold, especially the kitchen and one of the little things I love to do is heat up the dinner plates. Put them in the convection/micro for a couple minutes and they’re warm way sooner than the big oven and with less energy used. Like my mom used to say “You don’t want to put a warm baby on cold marble.”

Morning Club The one that came with the house was aged the sensor was gone the handle on it broke .. We have had so many projects here but the house has great bones .. I had a little microwave so set it up where I keep the dishes..
it is just about 900 watts but is fine for awhile the old one has the exhaust that part still works
