LOL. Yes, DH will drink about any dark-colored swill. At least I'm in charge of buying the beans and, being first up in the morning, making the coffee. That first cup is oh so welcomed.

We've a Cuisinart drip maker, a French press, and a huge gallon+ percolator for gatherings (which has gathered dust due to lack of any gatherings the past year.) Only the first machine gets regularly used.

I agree that being retired gives you the right to get up when you want, go to bed when you want, go to town when you want, and do any other projects when you want.

Isn't retirement wonderful!
Personally, I love retirement. My inner clock is broken- too many years on nights. I only set an alarm when I have an appointment or company coming. Thought I would do all those projects that I put off til retirement. Haven’t done any of them yet- it is full time puttering in the yard and watching chicken TV.

So lets :caftalk coffee makers- I own ......

And currently a Duo

I have have just about every electric drip maker, they all died after one year of use. This Duo, is 2 years old, when you make a one cup the handle "may" pop up and not brew- when you make a pot, the grounds basket doesn't always stay in contact with the little frotis that tells the coffee maker to GO, So you want a 10 cup pot and it stops at 4 :barnie

When all of the family was here I kept hearing "MOM!!! whats with the coffee maker, how do you make it go????" hahahahahahaha
And so yes, it did it to me this morning. Such a drag when you grind the grounds, set the maker all up, push the 10cup bottom and go take the dog out -&&--boom 4 cups😵

What is your fav. way to make coffee??
I have a Keurig and love it. Sometimes, I use the pods, sometimes instant coffee( depends on how much I spend on yard / pet stuff), I drink a lot of hot tea and hot chocolate, so I use it for that too. Mine is 3 years old and doing great.

MIL gave me a Keurig, so it's the "old" kind. I think that was about 5 years ago? It still works just fine. I don't buy the pods; way too expensive! I got the little reusable basket, and it works great. If this things dies, I doubt I'll buy one of the newer Kuerigs. The one at work lasted a year.

Huh. I have been retired for just over a year. I wonder how many they've had to buy...

Gee, I don't miss going to work. Not a bit. Retirement is fantastic.
