MIL gave me a Keurig, so it's the "old" kind. I think that was about 5 years ago? It still works just fine. I don't buy the pods; way too expensive! I got the little reusable basket, and it works great. If this things dies, I doubt I'll buy one of the newer Kuerigs. The one at work lasted a year.

Huh. I have been retired for just over a year. I wonder how many they've had to buy...

Gee, I don't miss going to work. Not a bit. Retirement is fantastic.
Keurig coffee makers started showing in mostly Graduate and faculty offices here last year. The fire department had a fit because they were being plugged into power strips. Apparently they draw a lot of electricity and need to be plugged directly into a wall socket

And good Saturday morning to you! Yes, I was up at 4a.m.

Then I got a fire going, it is a bit chilly in here. 42 on the porch

It is always a full day here. Always something needing to be done.

Have a great morning!

The success of the Keurig machine surprised me. Or should I say the people that I know who got them surprised me, considering the garbage they generate. Of course I can’t be too hoity toity considering the many plastic coffee makers we’ve gone through in this house! I do have an old fashioned percolator somewhere but once you get spoiled by the convenience of waking up to fresh coffee.... We only drag it out when the power goes out.
