Great egg layers tooGood morning, All - thanks, Sue.
Light brown leghorns - prettiest bird ever created in my opinion.
I had one taken down- cost an arm and leg though- they used ropes to hold and lower the branches as they cut them. Fascinating to watchWe have a at least two huge trees that are threatening the house but how the hell to get them down without taking the house also
These are acer macrophylla, otherwise known as big leaf maples which tend to rot in the middle and fall apart in age anyhow. And they get huge so the suckers are double trouble. I don’t know pecan trees at all but it’s probably safe to say suckers growing off a stump aren’t very sound. It cost almost $2000 to have another clump taken out last year so we’re paying the price of neglect!Got a pecan tree growing from a stump- are you saying that it will probably be unstable? If so, guess I should cut it back.![]()

They climb up and lower pieces with rope, sometimes they can use a crane and lift them out, it is fascinating to watch but very expensive. It is best to get bids but don’t take the cheap bidder, haha! They need insurance! We have a at least two huge trees that are threatening the house but how the hell to get them down without taking the house also

Making sourdough bread is a priority!Yes it is! We were tempted to cut down the rest of the naughty maples while the line was down but that would have caused trouble. DH is on the phone now to get the landline back up. It got taken out too! I was hoping it didn’t go overnight because I fed my starter and need to start bread tonight.
