Gotta agree with you about the temperature. I'd prefer 75 F here. If by some miracle we could lock the temp in the 70-80 F here all year round I'd be a happy camper.

I enjoy the change of seasons tho, but I just HATE having to layer on 4 layers of clothes every time I go outside, even for a few minutes. I'm a shorts and T-shirts sort of lady so in my little old lady mind, I feel that I should be able to dress that way 365 days out of the year.

I worked on my quilt yesterday and may work on it a bit today. Since I hand quilt my fingers are a bit sore today. I'm trying to get the hang of using a thimble but my arthritis deformed fingers aren't co-operating with me. So it leaves me with needle sticks....lots and lots of needle sticks.

Happy Valentines day everyone IM thanks made another pot here started the day a tad slow ...
Up to speed now have a food dilemma the one I have used 4 years is not getting to the feed store picked up a scratch and peck not fond price was too high for my purse but bought two
birds new stuff went nuts decided to mix them

Do you stuff the quilts Cap, like what we call a duvet?

Duvets here are done like a bed in bag ... the cover is decorative but snaps or zips some even button might give it thought here on a new one

Some slides have been pretty drastic. The road up through the National Park is still closed. Seems about 200 metres has gone walkies over the edge. I have absolutely no idea how they are going to fix it.
The worst bit here is the track beside the sheep field. it's a major fix and it has to be done. It's a fire truck route.

I have had my alpha rooster herd the hens into a corner near the coop when a hawk flies over and he and a 'lieutenant' will take up post between them and the perceived danger. They will both be standing on their toes, heads in the air, screaming their lungs out. At that moment, watching them I don't doubt that they would go after a threat to keep their harem safe.

I once had a little buff Cochin bantam rooster and a little mixed bantam hen named Maxine. Maxine always had a line of chicks following her with Red, the Cochin in attendance. One day I had them in the yard and Red 'thought' he saw a bird bigger than him....just about every bird in existence....and let out a yell for Maxy to take cover. She immediately called her chicks to her, got them all under her, flattened herself out like a pancake and tucked her head under while Red stood guard over her.

That little hen would have sacrificed herself for her babies. There was no cover other than her underside and wings. Some 50 years later and I still miss Red and Maxy.

@Shadrach, we don't have landslides on our property, but we do have a lot of problems with erosion that we are constantly dealing with. Mainly we are dropping large rocks trying to stabilize the loss of topsoil to gravity.
