Penny I sincerely think that parents would rather drug little Sally or little Joey rather than deal with them. It's just easier than discipline, like @Ladies-Eight said. Or than being home with them and giving them the attention and guidance they need. Mom works, Dad works, they come home. Kiddo is acting up, not wanting to do homework or whatever is expected of him. Parent's are tired, stressed, it's easier to give kiddo that dose of Ritalyn than it is to deal with his or her behavior.

It breaks my heart. I see so many people who have kids but don't want to put the time and effort into into raising them.

Wow Shad have that rosemary here also dry my own sometimes take a bit fresh to cook ...
Peeps got to try food this morning they like it like Mikey ..... Sean good to see you pop in how is your leg?

I collect rosemary, thyme, wild asparagus, mint, fennel, lemon thyme (although it isn't doing very well here) aloe vera, pine nuts, rosehip and a few more here.

Mental illness and addiction are pretty hard to treat and agonizing to live with,
unless you've been there don't be so quick to poopoo the possible 'cures'.
Then again our society is mighty quick to say take a pill, and some are more than willing to go along. It's a clustertangle.
It is a difficult problem.

I've been outside cleaning the chicken yards today. I had put a 8 inch strip of metal down next to the main coop for some reason or another and pulled it up today. 3 hens dove in grabbing worms and grubs as fast as they could. When I came in they were still happily scratching around in the dirt, not a care in the world.

It's supposed to be even nicer tomorrow so I'll be outside again watching the geese migrate overhead and enjoying the sunshine. I need to remember to take my camera with me and get some pics of the chickens while I'm at it.
