Well they must have kept laying eggs when she started sitting. So it's a staggered hatch. Like 24 eggs!

Well I ended up with 2 of them sitting, so they had the eggs well covered.

penny -- how's the air quality where you are? Are the fires nearby?

We've got yo-yo conditions here. Yesterday was a record heat for the day (96) and tomorrow will be a record morning low for the day (37). We've got smoke from just about everywhere, so lots of bad air but pretty sunsets and moonrises. View of the mountain is obscured, but then we've got wind advisory/warning starting at noon today as the cold front blows in.

It'll be interesting to see how the veggie compound fares with the near-freezing lows. May have to do a little harvesting today.
