Saw that show (Nova?) earlier. Time to stop blaming the cows!

The earth in its orbit around the sun can wobble by up to 2 degrees, thereby exposing more of the polar ice area to warmer sun. This, of course, affects climate as ice melts and permafrost tundra decomposes. The flipside is that for the ice melting, there is more ice forming down in Antarctica. Every 41,000 years there's a radical change (ice ages, flood). We're probably overdue for Earth's cleansing.
