Saw on the news about some flooding in Missouri and thought about y'all.
Thanks Pert. No we are fine. The creek didn't even get 'cranky' on us and go into flood. We were so dry here the almost 10 inches we have gotten in rain since the first of the month was just sopped up like the ground was a dry sponge. We had only gotten about a 1.5 inches total in July and don't quote me but probably since the middle of June. It has been a very dry spring and early summer here and my garden is toast. Too hot to set blossoms. I finally just gave up and pulled my tomato plants since they were wilting from the heat.

The chickens loved them.

Tea and coffee still available for refills guys. Meanwhile some chicken humor for the day.

Stay cool guys. We hit 102 before we finally got some relief and much needed rain. Grass crunched under foot and in spite of doing all I could to keep my birds cool including turning a fan on them I lost an older hen to heat stroke. It's the hottest that it's been since I started keeping chickens 8 years ago.

Summer is great but that much heat ain't fun.
