My only hope is that ma is up to baking one with the pecans we have in the freezer. That's a lot of money for any kind of pie. Sam's Club used to have them this time of year for a lot less than that and they were the very large size. Must have been at least a 12" pie. We should be by there before long and will check them out.

I think these are 8" possibly 9.

My uppers got to soft to hold fillings. I was shocked the day I was told my teeth couldn't be fix anymore. I think having them all pulled, COVID, and a prescription med together really messed up my taste buds. That all started 4+ years ago. I'm just now able to enjoy fresh pork, chicken, and beef again. I might grill a steak soon and if I can't eat it can be used in a spicy stir fry that I can eat. I've actually enjoyed my coffee lately now we are not having long hot summer days.

MIL used to make walnut pie for Thanksgiving. Not a fan, so I never have. DH will have to deal with having "just" pumpkin and lemon meringue pies.
