Good Morning from Arizona. Bright sunny day today. It was cold this morning, 40 is darn cold in the desert. A dry cold it is. Having cup #3, just black Kroger's brand, Breakfast Blend. I like it. If I want to kick it up a notch, I add a touch of Amaretto, on a cold morning or evening, when needed. Now that is what I'm talking about. Fire in the fire pit, Morning's watching the sun rise.At night, stars out so bright, You can see them all. Quite. Hearing the fire crackle. Night critters making their talk. Now a sip of the Coffee Amaretto, Turn on the MUSIC and Enjoy that pleasure. Ah, Music. I don't know if I every go a day without Music in my head. or listing. Tunes are always on. I wrote a Blues song in my head yesterday, as I sat and watched my Wee baby chicks, at play.
My youngest DS and I were talking about music, new and old. He said Mom, I always have music playing in my head. LOL, I thought I was the only one who did that. We cracked up, because the other kids call him Chip because he is so much like me. The words came, and the music was playing along with it. The Baby chick's liked it. One sat on my foot, the others beside it and in front of chair. I did not scare them. ( Good sigh I thought?) Oh, The song is called, The Chicken Lady Blues.

Goooood Morning! It's just after 7am here in the Atlanta suburbs, and the road crew is already hard at work outside the house on the main road just pounding away with the heavy equipment. No going back to bed, sleepy head! just make another pot of coffee! Already scrubbed out the chickens' feeder and refilled with fresh, let out the pop door. Eventually I will get dressed

I had my "you might be a crazy chicken lady" moment yesterday. Yup, got through TWO doctors appointments before realizing there was chicken poop smeared on the front of my over-shirt. At least it was a dark shirt and a dark smear.

On another post this morning I've learned Silkie chicken meat (and skin and bones) are super black. doesn't this prove Silkies aren't really chickens but evil aliens? DH even said I could have one!

Hey, Kathyinmo, I'm in SW MO, too, between Nevada and Lamar. Rock and floods -- I'm with you on that. Even though I am originally from KCMO, I lived in NJ most of my life. There we lived on soil that was classified the worst sandy soil except for beach sand. Talk about contrast!!! We've decided to garden on raised beds because it is too darn hard to work and improve the soil. Talked my neighbor into it, too, last year. She told me that it was the best production she ever had.

And I've got a broody BA setting on some eggs since the 13th. I'm concerned, too, but, I'm letting her do it anyway.

I'm drinking my coffee and thinking of starting a fire in the woodstove, this raw and rainy day (possible snow flurries later). Good day to curl up with a book. I'm reading "Under the Dome" by Stephen King. Very interesting concept! I'm only 150 pages into a 1000+ book. Hardcover -- Heavy and hard to hold in the hands.

Good morning, Wonderful People! I'm off to the Teachers' Room for a second cup of coffee. Drank the first driving in. It's going to be a beautiful sunny day, warmer than usual for this time of year. I wish I were home digging a trench around my new coop to bury the hardware cloth, before the ground freezes. So much to do this time of year and one's always chasing the weather.

Have a great day!

good morning ,
how is your coffe this a.m. I changed over to
maxwell house for this week, but I still prefer the D.D
Dunkin donuts coffee its got a taste that cant be beat.

and
I have a few more things to get going on the coops.
Iam stuffing small cracks in one big coop with brillo soap pads cut in halves. Its keeps rodents away and then i cover with sheets of cardboard for added warmth
and safety so flock dosent start to nibble.
have a great day.
