Coffee's ready...

Oesdog - - Very nice picture. That is a lot of disabilities. How do you and the other half manage ? ? ?

I am overwhelmed at times with the taking care of my dad and he doesn't have nearly the disabilities as your Ds. Your son seems very happy in the picture. Are his spirits normally jolly ? ? ?

My dad has beem in a Funk since I brought him home from the hospital a few days ago. They took him off all his meds (including his anti-depressants) during the week he was in the hospital. I started him back on the meds, but I don't know how long before they kick back in. The doctor may have to re-adjust them because I think the stress of the hospitalization has overwhelmed his system!

The hospital offered home health care for dad, but at the same time, they said he didn't need extra care due to the procedure they did. It was a confusing experience for me and I don't suffer from any of the handicaps that my dad does. . . I can only imagine what he was feeling during all this . . . .

Well, I need to go check on him. .

CHICKS In Sun - - We had an early birds dinner with my ex-coworkers last night. It was fantastic to see my friends again and check up on how things are going at school this year. Two of my friends left that school and started at different schools this year. It was good to compare everyone's experiences !

KARL - - how many children do you have an how old are they? I am taking my two children to the local 4-H recruiting meeting tonight. I am hoping to interest them in joining. . .

SCOOP = = I am working on traing my Ds to make my coffee for me. I think when I get OLD (

. . . At least I should get good tasting coffee. Can a woman live off of coffee only ? ? He has a SWEET tooth - - Can a woman live off of coffee and donuts only ? ? ?

EVERYBODY have a GREAT FRIDAY !

Good Afternoon, and happy Friday, chicken hearders.

I posted yesterday, and I guess it didn't work. Weird.

Anyway - Oesgod - what wonderful picture of you son!
Math Ace - medical stuff is so overwhelming - at my old job a lot of my responsibilties involved navigating health insurance and medical care, and it was a drain. The least favorite part of my job. I used to wonder how on earth they expected poor, under-educated, disabled, or elderly people to make heads or tails of our system when half the time I couldn't do it with a Masters Degree and years of experience dealing with it. Hope he getts settled in and starts feeling better. Anti-depresants generally take about 2 weeks to return to the levels they need to be to be effective. Sounds like you had fun with your co-workers. I'm getting to know a lot of people here I really like - much more than at my former school, so that's nice.

You guys reminded me I need to book some camp sites for a few weekends this fall and winter. The kids do love it.

Gotta get some notes done before the day is done here, which thankfully isn't much longer.

Have a good one!

Would be good of some of you could give some help with my wee chick Omlet AGAIN! She is failing again Posted in Emergency section under - does anyone know about leg problems? She is eating and drinking ok but is constantly laying down and when she stands her legs shake. I am really worried I had a bigger chick in with her for a bit but there was no fighting she is in with her Rooo Blue the Cream Legbar on her own again now. He is looking after her and wont leave her side. Something is very wrong again and I have tried so hard to keep her alive.

Please give me some ideas how to help her and what might have happened?

I love her she survived in her egg for 28 days!!!!! She is my little mirricle bird. I have done everything from helping her hatch to feeding her with an eye dropper and nursing her though infections and all sorts she just isn;t thriving again - I really hope I get to keep her I sooo want her and Blue to mate.
I really want to cry I think I will lose her. Why is chicken love so awful and so many folk think I am nuts to care for something we stuff in a sandwhich!

Oesdog -

Changed my post on the other thread to my chick is dieing - it doesn;t look good. I brought them both in tonight.

I hope the heat in the house will help her.

oesdog sorry about your chick, got one of my own. wounded by don't know what. wing and back bare. This is life.

Sorry I haven't been on lately, been ahving one of those days where everything seems overwhelming and can't seem to get going. Nothing a few million dollars won't fix. That and a miracle or two.

Well have a nice day folks, lots to do.

Still love ya all

We manage best we can with Danny, we also have his twin Ben with special needs too! Then our Daughter has heart issues and so does Dh its a bit crazy here at times!!!! - like yourself it is hard going and the health care stuff here is all very hard and often overwhelming too! I worked in the Ambulance service for years and I still don;t understand a lot of it all. I do hope you get sorted with your Dad. It is hard hard work. We had Dhs Dad a lot years ago sadly he is gone now but things like needing 5 of us to get him safely to and from the bathroom stick in my mind!!!!!!!!! Yeah we only had one bathroom in that house and it was upstairs so you can imagine the drama!

Anyhow thinking of you -

Oesdog

Thought I would say the chick looks a wee bit better tonight and has been up eating and drinking a bit but still falls over and sleeps a lot.
I am hoping she will get better. This is happening to her a lot! She seems to trip over her own feet !!!!!

I logged on here hours ago to say good morning, and got a bit distracted. So good afternoon!
I'm drinking ice coffee now. I did a Pilates class, which kicked my behind since I haven't done any in years, and it is still really hot out, so the coffee tastes good cold. I don't can't heat it up anyway, since a few weeks ago our microwave started shooting little lightning bolts inside it - scared us to death! Next week I should have the money to replace it.

Oesdog - how is the chick doing? I'm rooting for it!
Hang in there, Rancher.

I forgot to share with you guys what my son said on the way to work yesterday. He started listing our pets, "we have a wabbit, and a cat, and lots a chikins - the two babies and the big ones. But we need more chickins, mommy, lots more chickins. Can we buy s'more chickins?" I didn't realize even three year olds were in danger of catching the chicken bug, too!

Gotta go get ready for a crazy four year old's birthday party at one of those kids boucy house places. Yippee.....

Have a good day!

well got some stuff done but not all. Had Paul here today and my SIL to do some stuff but Paul and I talk about the Lord so we work together on stuff I physically can't do by myself. By then I'm too tired to do the things I can do by myself.

Big competition acrss the street at the school. Bands of some kind and loud. Have the earphones on listening to Declan Gilbraith and Billy Gilman when they were kids. Neither aged very well in the voice or style department. IMO.

got a wounded chick too but don't have the heart to put it down. It's strong enough but it's wing and side are all bare and I'm not sure what it's life will be like if I let it live. Don't have the time to spend on one bird.

I'm sorry for all the trials some seem to have and wish there was something I could do other than pray. Lord have mercy.

Love ya Rancher

Well my little chick is still alive today. I really don;t know what to do. The Roo cream Legbar isn;t good either.
He was sneezing when I brought them in and now has watery mustard colour poo. So does the Pullet but yesterday that seemed better? Poo is a bit smelly.

She is just falling over all the time. First I thought she got injured but now I am thinking must be Cocci but I don;t know how to treat it as all your stuff mentioned we can;t seem to get here. I don;t know UK equivalant and there are loads of restrictions on what you cen buy over the counter.

So far I have been giving infant vitamins / sugar water - sometimes through a dropper but mostly she has drank herself. Egg but not yogurt yet have to go to the store today and get some. She is eating normal Poultry grain ok. Today she seems weaker though and some of her wing feathers fell out?

Oesdog - Any ideas ???????????????
