Coffee's ready...

oes here is a link to a possible solution for your sick chickies. We have had a number of people here in the state of Washington USA that have been having problems. I a bit much to post all here, but here is the link and I hope it helps some. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=4801100#p4801100 you might want to check out pages before and after.

PS That is a wonderful picture of your son Danny and the baby Jessica.

I need a teenager that can make coffee for me. I am to lazy to do it for myself most of the time.

Good Morning everyone. It appears to be a gorgeous day here in Illinois. Thought we were going to have rain for several days, but it moved out so this is great. So much to do. My energy level is BLAH, need something to perk me up!! Some xtra sleep would help. Frank, the Pug, is one of these little guys who thinks he has to go out at 6 every single morning, but he also thinks he has to kiss me a hundred times during the night . . .so I don't get as much sleep NOW as I did with 5 babies . . .

Going to Sunday School and then back home to wait for my friend to bring my two Alpaca boys home. Worked on the barn yesterday and got all the shots and ear drops done! Been a busy week!!

Good morning all. I'm just getting up.

(Hey, I've got a crazy week coming up so I have to take advantage of the rest when I can!)
Oesdog - so sorry to hear about your little one. I wish I could offer help, but I don't have any advice. It's sounds like you are doing the best you can for it so don't beat yourself up. She sure does sound like a miracle survivor! I love the picture of your son. Very nice! That picture reminds me of an interview I recently heard on the radio with Jerry Lewis. It was very interesting. Jerry talked about how he started the Telethon like eons ago (I think it was over 50 years ago) He was determined to make a difference, a real difference somehow. The first year I think he said they raised like $20,000. That was a lot of money back then apparently so it gave him the incentive to keep on going. It was really a fascinating interview, I just lucked out turning on the radio when I did. I know that he can have harsh language sometimes but he sure has done a lot of work raising so much money for research that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize I think! (Actually, I think he said he was nominated for it one year and that it was he greatest achievement in his life and he was so honored even tho he didn't win) Anyway, it sure sounds like you have a lot on your plate. But then your sons and daughter are lucky to have you for a mom I'm sure!
I am very fortunate to have the DD I have. She not only makes great coffee but she is cooking dinner sometimes and doing the dishes to earn money. She's a great cook and is good at baking, too. She is a huge help. So, if she needs money all she has to do is ask what I need! (It's funny how teenagers have such a need for cash! - But it works for me!)
Well, should be a crazy busy week for me, unless I get a break at work and can sneak on the computer for a minute or two. I'll prolly not be on much til next weekend. I sure do miss chatting with you all on a regular basis.
Sissy - I'll try to keep you posted. Thanks for all your prayers. Still praying for you DH.

Talk to you later guys! Enjoy your coffee!

evening folks jsut want to check in. Slept til 11:00 today. Went back to be after letting the birds out and collecting the paper. didn't sleep good last night either. Have some meds but hate to take them. DW asked if I was ok "You look like crap" or something like that.

anyhow went to the new Paradise market today. Lots of venders and such. Indoors, looked at some Alpaca yarn, $12 for 100yards? Hand died and all that stuff. Soft and nice. Waiting for 16" circular needles to come. Can't get them in the store. Want to make a hat for DGD. One of those that look like a strawberry, pumpkin or some other veggie type thing. The needles should be good for making the military hats I make and donate to our troops through a yard shop here.
There was some nice local jellies for sale too. Antiques, books and jewelery and all that stuff. There was a stage and some guy playing music and people dancing.

oesdog: missed the pics of your son but will go back and hunt them down. I get tired and stay away and then come back and whoa! All the missed posts.

well folks take care

Hi - Well my little chick is hanging in there - taking her to the vet tomorrow and am hoping to get one that will actually look at her and not laugh at me or charge me a fortune! The darn Legbar looks like he isn;t the best either and I sure don;t want to lose him. So they are both going I can;t seperate them as they cry for eachother something rotten. The legbar has gotten awful screechy but apparently they are like that.

Rancher - I am not giving up on my chicky - God has plenty up there he can;t have this one yet! If he is in charge then he knows I need this chick more than he does! So I guess I will have to fight him for her!!!!!! We do a lot of that God and I. Hope you find the pic of my Danny he said Jessica several times today and ooooooh baby!! Soooo cute! I was thinking you might post a few pics of your knits???? I like the idea of the hats - I have made a few bonnets for Jessica but I don;t do Circular your much more advanced than me!!!!!! I made a few of these for Jess in different colours and crocheted a few cot blankets but don;t have a pic of thise just the layette.

Morning People,
Coffee's hot, little food in the house for breakfast.....

Weather: Mid to upper 70's, chance of thunder storms. Woke up to 58 degs.

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoyed the quietness.

We had a good time and did 3 trails, 6; 12; 17 miles. We decide against doing Cranberry lake, so we did a section of it. After a couple of trials we went and tormented the little rat. It was good to see them (better half & little rat) under a blanket, on the couch gabbing away. There was some kind of perception everyday. One night there was a really good thunder storm. I guess I spook the better half the couple of weeks before we went. You should have seen the 1st aid kit. Everything from the booboo band-aids to 6" bandages, gauze, steree(sp) strips and tape.

Looks like I'll be processing the last of the beans and tomatoes this week.

Enjoy the day

Kaj

Good Morning!
Oes - great little outfit. Was that crocheted (spelling?) or knited? I learned to knit and used to enjoy it, but I wasn't very good at it yet and after my son came along I just haven't picked it back up again. Good to hear the chick is hanging in there.

You won't believe this - my Leghorn is broody again! I was afraid of that when she missed laying Saturday (she NEVER misses a day), then yesterday she did lay but wouldn't get off her own egg and the other two.

She is so small - I really worry about her staying in there all day and not eating and drinking enough (especially since it is still in the 90s). I put some yogurt in the box with her. I forgot to go back out last night and put her on the roost with the other girls. I will try that a few nights before locking her up in the broody-breaking cage again. I just hate doing that to her. She paces and paces.

Sounds like you had a nice trip, Quercus. I can't wait for it to cool down a bit more to go camping.

Well, back to work for me. Have a great day.

Tyra
