Almost time to butcher the turkeys.I'm ready for thanksgiving and all the winter stuff that goes along with it. How bout ya'll.

just sucking down some coffee (really, where's my coffee IV?!) before I head out to the experiment I'm participating. This time, I get to be fMRId. I'm looking forward to a picture of my brain.

Name them all after snacks or very yummie dinners and you will be alright.My big Tom's name is not important as soon enough he won't answer to it anyway.

I am not sure DH will be able for a meat bird flock. Funny because he kills pheasants and has processed birds before but he won't kill the boys ( Duck and Nugget-xtra roos. Because as he said he knows them???) I thought that was the whole point so you KNOW where your food comes from???? Trouble is DH wants Goats and piggies and lama type things so I may have a whole heap of animals and not one for the freezer???????

(And thay say girls are soft!)

Morning/afternoon people
Damp chilly day here. A good day for chili. Coffee's good but not strong enough for a morning like this one. The fire is crackling nicely tho. I have to move some wood in today.

Who likes the rain? - The only time I really to like it, is when I wake up wet from it. As in camping. Or if it becomes relentless.

I have the same problem here with animals. They turn into pets with the ladies. I am thankful the people behind us raise lamb for us, our beef comes from a farm about 8 miles away. We don't eat much pork, so that's not a problem. I'd like to raise a few turkeys, but I would have to get a few for pets. Is it worth it?

Good Morning! It finally rained here last night. I'm waiting for more. I love it when it rains, and yes, especially when camping. As long as it doesn't last all day.
I was just thinking I'd make some Chilli for my Chicken Swap, as out of the blue the temperature is really going to drop, with a high of only 68 that day, low in the 40s. Maybe some warm spiced cider, too. I know some of you are laughing, but for the Floridians that is COLD!

How much would you say 4 week old breeder stock chicks should be priced at? I'm pretty confident about the sex of them.

Gonna go find some more coffee, but unfortunately the stuff here is not strong enough, either. It will have to do. Here is a cute picture of one of my babies to brighten your day:

Sounds expensive. Right now I go through 25# bag of feed a day. The hens laying has slowed because of the season and my other birds won't be laying untill jan. Soo something has to go into the freezer just for self defense. By the way Good morning chicken wranglers!
