Morning People,
Looks like we are getting snowed on again, and the next couple of days we'll be getting something other then sunshine, but the ladies have me, Mr. Sunshine..... (I'm just joking). It seems I have been driving everyone up a wall here lately. We have a woodstove and on the stove is a pot of water. I have putting orange rinds in there and the house is starting to smell of them, nice and sweet ( like me of course - insert snicker). They think I made something to eat and it's making them hungry, but there is nothing to be had.

The better half and I went hiking this past Sunday, we did 2 tops. Twin and Indian Head.

We followed the creek up to the notch. Not much for the way of long views, but it was nice. It snowed on us for a good part of the day. We saw more people there on those trails then we have ever seen. The parking lot was just about full when we got there, and empty except for Mr. Vinny when we returned.

It's been confirmed that the 2 speckle Sussex are not what we thought they were. The person that we purchased them from will exchange them for pullets. Thank you for honest people.

That is pretty good chicken math Tartannik.

Welcome Michele_Lynd

Enjoy your day

Good Morning!

My BF is going to build a larger fenced in area for the chickens. I believe that equals some Susex and Brahmas in chicken math, doesn't it?

Our main student information network is not letting me log on this morning. I think I need to take a walk up front and see what is going on. I have a lot to do, and really need to be able to get on. Instead I am putzing around, trying to get on every few mintues.

Anyway, have a lovely morning - stay warm.

Well, I'm waiting for the workers to get here to install our new furnace. We are having the attic and crawlspace sealed, insulated, and replacing the inefficient baseboard heat with a furnace. The solar panels were installed yesterday, and we're just waiting for the inspector to approve them and the power company to flip the switch. That should save us about $500 a month between the new furnace and the solar.

I have to run to the store and buy chicken livers today - decided I wanted to make a pasta sauce with them. But now, I've gotta go clear a bit more space for the workers. Hope it's clear enough for them to get their work done.

I was wondering where you were, Rancher! Good to see you.

Anna, I can't imagine having bills over $500 to begin with! WOW! My power bill was over $300 last month and I almost had a stroke. This month was better, only $211.

My son has been very crabby, and I think he may be coming down with something. I almost kept him home. I told his teacher to call if he seemed to be getting worse. So I may not be here all day, but for now I'll make it to my morning meeting.

I have decided to sell my VW van, sell my soul to the devil, and trade in my Prius - all for a Honda Pilot. First I have to wait for my tax refund, but I'm excited. Mixed feelings, though.

Well, gotta run.

Good morning people,
We have a nice mixture of rain/sleet and looks like snow coming down this morning. We had 6" of snow yesterday. Does anyone have any Motrin to spare????

Welcome back Rancher. It seems some of this white stuff is spilling over from you and Karl. You guys want it back?

Our electric bill with the shop in full swing is $245.00 for 2 months and on average we have been using 40 gallons (@ $3.49/gall.) of fuel oil every 2 months. We also have a wood stove (maybe 3 1/2 cords per season) and solar hot water. All this for a 1200 sq.' house. To me, it's still to big.

chics in the sun: Good luck with you new vehicle. I hope your son feels better. If I may ask; How did he do with the transition to a new school environment?

annaraven: you are going to enjoy the solar. Are you getting one of those "smart" propane furnaces?

Homemade venison sausage with red gravy over pasta for supper tonight or pea soup with spaetzle.

Enjoy your day

Kaj
