Had a nice visit with the girls this morning.

Like sitting in the run and hand feeding their scratch.

Love that chicken TV.

Plenty gets to the ground and in the coop so they can scratch also. Only two of the five are laying now so I explained to them the we had saged chicken for supper last night and next week we plan on either chicken or omletts their choice.

Good brunch everyone...........
Well I did get to see some sun yesterday for a few hours. Overcast and humid for the next couple of days. I think the mold and mildew is getting moldy and mildewy. The dehumidifiers have been running constantly since the Irene came to visit. You stand to long in one spot on the lawn and you'll start to sink.

osedog: "Why are you lads so violent on here lately??????" I attribute it to marriage. Just joking, I am happily married for the last eon. (trying to score a brownie point). I tell people I am part Irish, that's the reason for my stunning personality, it's not that I am married to someone who has Scotch in her. I'll stop this before I get into to much trouble.

Enjoy the day

(rngrbill - I am talking whiskey!)

The weather here is getting colder and the nights are drawing in. I hate that but its nice to listen to the sea crashing on the shore on a clear night with the moon all bright, good if the evening is a bit warm though that happens less and less this time of year. My poor girls are living in mud again everything is wet and they sink if they stand in one place! Have to keep going in the coop and dragging them to the surfice by the tail feathers!

My Bertha is hobbling about still since her injury in June. She has taken to comming out of the hen house and watching from the top of the ladder. She is a good old girl and I am glad I didn;t have to put her down. Though DH is a bit miffed as she refuses to lay anymore eggs. She is a bit of a useless article in that respect but I am very fond of the old girl and she gave us 4 lovely chicks ( 2 were roos but the girls still live with us and lay everyday!) So thats about it round here. Nothing much going on just getting things organised for winter. Clearing the beds and putting plants to sleep for the winter months etc. Got a good load of Tomato and Cucumbers, Runner beans and broad beans. We still have about 6 cabbages to harvest and some Pumkin too. The last of the Rhubarb is away and I just covered it with hay and chicken poo! It always seems to do the job over the cold months and then I get loads come spring.

DH is back in bed again with chest pains so I fed him GTN and am hoping I am not having to claim the life insurance for a good while yet.

Jess was here today and screamed the place down for a good old time, after 3 hrs thought I better go check on her?

Good morning chicken wranglers
oesdog I really hope the dh recovers soon,Tell him to take it easy and wait on him hand and foot, after all he deserves it.All those years in Her majesties service, raising children with you and working like a dog to make ends meet take it out of a guy!
I'm on the verge of another big move.I'll tell you guys about it later.Hope it works out for the good,I'll pray about it tonight.
God Bless!

Good morning people,

I'm a day late and a dollar short with getting wood set for this winter. Late last winter and all spring of this year was busy. I am paying for it now. I like to have my wood all ready by June. I have a wake to go to. A friend of mine, that was like a brother died last week. His wife is in the local trauma center. I hate these things. It's a private service and the kids asked me to come.

osedog: "Well Q - I have a fantastic personality because I AM NOT IRISH!"
AAAAAAAAAAAAA - speechless...............

- ok
There's nothing wrong with the red hair gene, unless you have green eyes.......
Take care of the better half (The Irish) and wish him well.

Karl: Good luck with your endeavor and I hope everything works out the way you want it.
You need to clarify something for me.... you said "All those years in Her majesties service", are you referring to his marriage to osedog?

Enjoy the day

Well at last folk are begining to appresiate my true standing in the world!!!! I am indeed a princess - ASK GOD!

Answering your question Karl - yes I do live quite close to the farmer - who is a very GOD fearing man and doesn't take kindly to scantliy dressed females froliking in his meadows!!!! ( Poor chap must have been a right old shock to his system. ) Ulster is indeed a very very religious place and that kind of stuff doesn;t go down to well here. I guess it's a bit like your bible belt in the US there are things that you just don;t do! Unless your a pop star apparently!!
personally I am glad it was only her froliking and not some other folk I know! There are a few fellows on here that we would have needed the military to remove! And the farm would have been closed as a Bio-hazzard!
