Opa, how's your backs attitude today?

Shelle, you are making me want to drag out the incubator! But I have 8 roos still, so maybe not......

My back is feeling better but is still very tight feeling. I think tomorrow I will get back on my exercise regimen and that should help loosen the tightness.
I bought a 1/2 bushel of peaches on Saturday and they were $15. When I grumbled a little about the rising costs of everything and that I remembered paying $10 a bushel the person asked "when was that 20 years ago"? And then "what were you making 20 years ago"? "Exactly the same amount as I make now". It is starting to get more than a little scary. I'm think I might outlive my pension.

If you lived around here Opa I would give you some of my peaches. They are so sweet and juicy. When the kids bite into one the juices dribbles all down their chins. I know what you mean about things costing more, when we go food shopping it is outrageous.

Hard to beat the taste of a good peach. The ones I bought are so juicy that I will peel and cut them over a bowl so I don't lose any of the juice. I'm going to make a couple of batches of peach jam. Several years ago my oldest son and his family had gone to Louisianna and were staying at a friends home. Morgan, my granddaughter who was four at the time, was asked if she wanted jelly of her toast. When she bit into it she made a face and exclaimed, "Yuck, this isn't Opa's jelly". Sure makes the effort of making your own worthwhile.

I made some peach jam last year- this year the peaches down here just aren't as good, so I said nope.

Good morning all .. canned my first 8 pints of green beans last nite .. and it WORKED .. yippeee! DH and DD17 have gone off for some shopping and a movie .. DD12 and I are going to pick up school supplies (nothing like waiting 'til the last minute) and then come home and clean up a bit before dinner -- which will be salmon and corn on the grill .. mmm mmmm.
