Coffee's ready...

@ rancher, the only two vegetables that I do not like are cucumbers and eggplant.

I eat almost anything, but do not like these vegetables.

Well now since you brought it up.

I don't like mushrooms, eggplant, collards, swiss chard and brussel sprouts. However I will say that there may be a recipe for these that might make me like them but I haven't had it yet.

I heard someone say "its an acquired taste" recently and to me that means "I'll just keep eating it until I can tolerate this awful stuff".

Good morning chicken wranglers,
I love caramelized brussel sprouts fried in bacon grease . there are no veggies that cannot be fried in bacon fat and taste good! fried cabbage ,fried taters, fried broccoli, fried green maters, mmmmmm........ and on and on.
Time has come for me pick dig the taters. I have put it off and put it off and now it is giving me heart burn. The okra gets ahead of me and gets hard before I can get to it also. I worked over 80 hrs last week so maybe I can have a break this week to get my chores done. Over the week end all I did was laundry and build a screen door for the barn. I'm so ashamed! How lazy of me. Have to go got lots to do . By the way Rancher I meant no harm , I really did dry out . Only for my 55 year old liver!
God Bless!

The harvesting was my favorite part with the tater towers. It took maybe 10 minutes to go through one, and that was when I sorted the straw into the composter, potatoes in a jar, and soil into my maturing compost pile. If you can just dump everything in a pile and move it to your compost pile, it would be even quicker.

I think I will try to collect enough beans for a meal today. That would be tasty. I like mixing in some mayonnaise and dijon mustard with them after they've been steamed. Great side dish with anything.

Morning all,

DW has made the brussel sprouts with bacon but I still didn't care for it. I do eat ham and cabbage though. I don't think I'd ever had Broccoli as a kid but DW made it and I liked it. Cauliflower my mother made but only creamed and I do like it now but not creamed.

Anyhow rained again, but not until after I got part of the lawn mowed yesterday. Temps are down and I don't like that.

I've got a mouse in my garden that chewed up my cucumbers. Any advice there? Poisons of course are out.
