Coffee's ready...

As a arborist,
Ah, now I understand your handle, it makes sense. I just thought it was that you were old and dried out with skin like the bark of an oak tree.
I stand corrected.

Good morning chicken wranglers,
As fer the poison I was talking of poisoning things like coons and feral cats ,coyotes ,and the lot of pests that farmers despise.
Well I have to say the hens at our place are on the lay 15 eggs yesterday and not a brooder in the batch, but they just started laying within the last month so that is a lot of the explanation. I gave them a good girl treat of about 20 tomatoes for breakfast this morning and a watermelon tonight . Lord knows that soon enough the seasonal change will put the brakes on the production of eggs.
well folks got to go .
God Bless!

nah, rat, mouse and mole poison is sold at most hardware stores, some walgreens and CVS, and even some convenience stores here. It's permitted.

Poisoning big animals is kind of like burying land mines. You don't know who will actually be hit by it, and its very hard to remove after placing it. (although land mines have a much longer half-life and more dramatic and tragic long term effects; but the concept is analogous)
Morning folks,
Coffees almost gone the race has begun. Much to do but if half gets done that's a big deal.

Anyhow I prefer traps to poison. I worry the chickens will find the dead and eat them and the poison.

I did use rat poison in the squirrel trap but this past spring found a dead squirrel just outside the coop. Can't say what killed it but chickens will eat yukky things.

My neighbors cat was poisoned one year. Or at least she says it was poison. She's one of those neighbors who seems to know everything about everyone, even though it's unlikely they'd tell her this stuff.

Anyhow I don't use poison. Mouse and Rat traps seem to work. I don't trap for bigger. Rat traps are up where the chickens don't go. I nail them to trees or put them on top of the chicken run.

I have lots of cats thus less vermin ( just cats haha)
I'm a softy, live traps, or I get the dogs to do it... My old dog is a master of the snapped neck... Just "squeak" snap and its done.

Coffees good today.... How do you mess up coffee three days Ina row?

Amazing pictures Karl

Foggy here this morning.

Q's pic I think, British Columbia is beautiful also is it not , Hennible? post more pics of your homeland we would all like them I'm sure.
I do not use rat poison in the barn either just cats I do not want the cat to eat the poison, just as you guys think also.

@hennible
You'd like Finland then. Land of the thousand lakes. (Or 187 888 actually).

Oh I sure would!
Something like 60% of the world fresh water lakes are in Canada. For me its very hard to imagine not having a lake minutes away. Or at least 10 haha.
I'll have to post pics of our more spectacular lakes soon.
