Good morning chicken wranglers,
Busy week catching up with all the left out left overs. Ready to start brooding this years pullets and meaties. I would like to get the garden tilled but the weather is not cooperative at the moment. Cows are good horses good and I will have the week end to repair fences and open spring pasture for the herd. Sounds good ya'll fill me in .
God Bless!

Looks like warm weather here, though probably some rain. Everything is wet of course. The creek has risen.

I'd like to get things cleaned up a bit before the end of the month.

headed to TX. DD will be taking care of the birds. I'm trading away the lasted batch of chicks for help cleaning coops.

I've got eggs in the incu so hopefully the C. Rocks and VA. Dels will hatch out. If so that will mean the first season batch will be sold.

They're feathered out and if the weather were to hold could go outside. The C. Rocks and VA. Dels take priority right now.

I'm headed to the docs today to see what's going on with this cold. It just won't quit.

Well the sun is shining and got to try to not waste the day.

Take care and stay well,

Rancher

Two real spring days in a row. The Princess has finished 'spring decorating', and I have washed all of the windows and replaced the screens. Windows are opened and FRESH AIR is filling the house. Life is good. Hey , Rancher, hope that you are feeling better.

Well the Bronchitis is almost gone. Other things going on but I won't mention it.

Weather was nice today and I got very little done. Will try to get more done tomorrow. Want to get things situated before we leave so Dd doesn't have to hard a time with the chickens and chicks.

Morning people,
I hope this finds everyone including their better halves and family doing good. It's been a bit busy here. Seems like the older you get, the less time in a day. Myself, doing good. Doctor has completely changed my diet. I am glad the better half was with me. She wouldn't have believed me.
Anyways, part of the garden was planted and the kale and collard greens are making themselves known as are most of my starter plants. We picked up a couple of peach trees and should be planting them this week. I built 2 more raised beds and have about 3 1/2 yds of topsoil (mud at the moment) to fill them with. I was hoping to make those potato towers, but I don't think it will happen. I was going to put them in a raised bed, but with the rotation of crops every year..... I am trying something different were we grown our vine plants. In the past, it was one big weed and vine collection. Over the fall and winter I have been dumping the wood chips/dust from the shop in the area we grow them. We were going to try growing them in bags of topsoil, but I decided to take it a bit further/different. I am going to build little raised beds, say 14" - 16" square and about 8" - 10" tall. I'll see what happens.
The shop is doing good. A couple more custom orders this month. Here's one of the last ones that I personally liked. Curly Maple and black walnut.

Be safe and healthy, enjoy your day

Kaj
