Coffee's ready...

quercus

1-2 eggs per day Have 3 that are slacking off and 2 too young.

OK here is the family secret:
Dill Pickles
2 pints yield

1 cup water
7 oz. apple cider vinegar
4 tsp. salt (plain, we use kosher)

Sterilize your jars and lids, 10 minutes in boiling water and immediately
pack 2 hot pint jars tight with small washed and dried cukes,
2 sprigs of dill,
1 or 2 cloves of garlic if desired.

Pour boiling solution over pickles leaving 1/2 inch head space and seal.
listen for the POP of the lid. Ready in about 4 - 6 weeks. or when you can't stand it anymore.

Morning people,

Thanks for the recipe RngrBill. I'll try it soon, more cucumbers are on the way. I have a question for you, do you keep them in the frig? The lids on the ones I have now, did the pop. I was wondering if they sealed themselves or not.....

We are getting our turkeys today.

Pancakes and bacon for supper tonight

Enjoy your day

Good morning chicken wranglers,
I sent away 3 bull calves today ,they will return as steers. Should call the vet and have them save the oysters ?
Never have tried them .anyone out there a veteran of oyster gobbling?
My chickens are looking great I'm ready for eggs any time now.
The rooster has only just begun to crow so I'm thinking a few more weeks.
Sour did you milk your chickens for that milk?
Guys the wife and daughter are going to be canning pickle relish soon .I cannot share the recipe but we put a single hot pepper in every jar and man is it great on hot dogs or chili dogs and brats!
God Bless!

This reminds me of a story I once heard. A man was travelling in Spain, and wen't to see a bull fight. After a spectacular battle, the bull fighter finally emerged as the victor. Later that evening, the tourist was treated to a local specialty in a nearby restaurant, bull testicles. He found them so delicious, that next year he traveled to the same town, and went to the same restaurant, and ordered the same dish. After his meal, he asked the waiter why his meal was so disappointing, it wasn't nearly as delicious as last year, and this time it left him hungry too as they were much smaller in size. The waiters reply; "Well señor, sometimes the bull wins."

Good morning chicken wranglers,
Felix, good story. I will . l reiterate this tale many times in the future with many twists to embellish it for the specific occasion. The steers are now home . Funny how the cattle know things.
Almost all of the cows went up and sniffed the empty appendage, and the other steers immediately challenged the new steers to try and establish a new pecking order.
I had the vet dehorn one of the poor boys and he now is very lowly on the barn yard scale of supremacy .
As a matter of course I put him in with the new calf and his momma, both their mommas actually.
Good luck with the pigeon milk sourland!
Oh yeh got my ducklings and my turkeys last night hope all goes well with them and they grow tastier by the day!
God Bless!

Morning people,

I hope this finds everyone doing well and enjoying there day. Good stories Felix and Karl. I have one for you.

Long, long time ago......... I use to live on a Angus farm. Never had anything really to do with that part of the operations. Anyways, the owner, a real down to earth great person, ask me to get the cas. ring pliers tool. Not really knowing what he was talking about, and him trying to describe what he want with out using the right wording. I started on my venture. I went to my truck garage and dug around my tool box and found my multiple universal nut crackers

. Poor man, about 70 years old, crying from laughing.

Made 5 quarts of pickles, inhaled one quart so far. Many more to go.

Enjoy your weekend,
Kaj
